Life's purpose

What is the purpose of this life? Has anyone ever thought about this seriously? We keep asking what you want to do in your life. And always we come up with some thing to achieve in the future. And one day, the body falls away. That is inevitable. The body will die one day, whatever you do. Whether you are Bill Gates or George Bush, you will die one day and the world will keep moving. So how does it matter what you achieve in the eye of the world?

This is a question every one should ask themselves. To know the purpose of the life, first one has to understand one self. Who is me or I? Is there anything beyond stories? To most of us life is but the clutter that is going on in our minds. If there is a loud speaker connected to our brain, then it will go on... non stop forever, not even in the sleep.

When the stories stop there is calmness - No expectations, no desires, no hopes, no fears. Many people must have experienced this calmness once in a while, but it did not continue due to lack of attention. If you start observing the stories and truthful to the core, the stories will start to fade away. With the stories going away one will feel the peace appearing more frequently. At that time, there is no desire and no wants. If a desire arises, there is a witnessing of that desire. Sometimes, there is a momentum and the body moves to execute that desire. Some other times, the desires falls away. Whether the desire is fulfilled or not, it does not make any difference. The only person to whom it makes any difference is an imaginary character and hence events and desires wont affect anyone.

All you need to do is to calm the mind, so that silence can be felt in the back ground. You need to shift the attention from the experience (or imagination) to the experiencer. Whatever you hear, read, do are to reduce the noise so that you can hear the silence. The actions themselves wont take you to the silence. Reducing the noise will make the silence come out
