Time or Timeless - Where is your attention ?
I have been reading Eckahrt Tolle's book "the Power of Now" recently and I have also been listening to his various audio tapes. He keeps talking about the present moment as all encompassing field. I was contemplating about its and this is the understanding that came to my mind. (I dont claim whether it is right or wrong.).
So is the time a reality? OK, now read this carefully. Imagine that you are sitting in a train and the train has stopped at a station. In the next track there is another train. Sometimes, the other train starts moving and you feel that your train is moving. Have you observed this? Clearly the motion can happen only with respect to the motionless. If everything is moving, you wont feel the motion. It depends actually on your frame of reference. You wont feel that the earth is rotating, because everything on the earth is moving with it.
Similarly, instead of paying attention to the time, pay attention to the timeless. Imagine this way for simplicity. There is a timeless stage, which is the whole creation. In it every moment, new things appear and disappear. For everything forever in that stage, there is no change. Only new shows appear each moment and disappear. Everything that is coming to the stage feels the time because they will enter and exit. So the time is essentially due to the frame of reference. If you are in the unchanging stage, then no time exists. If your attention is on the things that are appearing and disappearing then time exists.
Well, I don't know this is true or false. But with a change in your attention you could also concur that this is a possibility. This is as much a possibility as the existence of time..
Have fun with all the knowledge....
